Info on OGUN and language ECTS points

Dear Students,

Since some of you keep asking questions regarding the issue of ECTS points from languages that could be counted into 21 ECTS points from OGUNs that each student is obliged to receive throughout 5 years of studies, the issue has been consulted with the Dean. The following rules have been confirmed:
· The current (2009/10) 5th year– up to 20 ECTS from languages can be counted into ECTS points from OGUNs,
· The current (2009/10) 4th year and 3rd year– up to 10 ECTS from languages can be counted into ECTS points from OGUNs,
· The current (2009/10) 2nd year, 1st year and coming years – you can count up to 4 ECTS from language classes to OGUN points but only if the language exam is from a different language than the language class.
This rule about only 4 ECTS (and different languages at the same time) has existed for years and is still in effect, but since the current 3rd, 4th and 5th year didn’t know about the OGUN requirement when they started the studies and it seemed to be unfair, an exception was made in order to give the students more chances to fulfill the OGUN points requirement.
